Hi, I’m Rebecca!
Do you find yourself looking for a few minutes to be creative, slow down, or just breathe? In our fast-paced world, embroidery provided me just that.
My love for embroidery blossomed during the pandemic. With more time on my hands and a mind full of stress and despair, I turned as much of my energy towards this craft. Embroidery became my creative outlet, and a way for me to express the moments that spark joy in my life.
Over the past couple of years I have worked on creating joyful, beginner-friendly designs inspired by life in the Maritimes. The more I practice this slow craft, the more I notice how my breath aligns with the flow of the needle through the fabric, which creates a meditative experience through art. I want others to experience this moment of peace, and of being so relaxed that you get lost in the stitches.

Unraveling Joy – Embroidery offers DIY embroidery kits, digital PDF patterns, and in-person workshops. With each offering, I provide a digital copy of my Beginner’s Embroidery Guide, which teaches beginners how to choose supplies, prepare your hoop, stitch, and finish your piece. If you have never picked up a needle before, this guide gives you all the basic skills and knowledge to indulge in this slow, peaceful craft.
When I’m not crafting, I can be found making memories with my daughter, cuddling with my dachshund, or eating homemade baked goods with my husband. Sometimes all at once 🔆 I love the color of the ocean horizon, the song Hallelujah, chocolate of any kind, yoga, and PEI sunsets.
